The Civil Society Organisations (CSO) Stakeholder Consultation Meet was organized by Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Chennai, under the Homelink Network DIGI Project, in collaboration with the Don Bosco National Forum for the Young at Risk (DB YaR), as part of the Child Friendly City (CFC) initiative. The theme, “Promoting Emotional Well-being and Positive Behaviour among Children in Homes and Communities,” guided the discussions. A staff member from Marialaya participated in the session. The program was facilitated by Fr. Ravi Aruldass, SDB, Director of Niraivagam, along with his team. The session focused on effective child care practices in shelter homes, addressing emotional and behavioural challenges, and ensuring children’s protection and holistic development. Emphasis was placed on empathy, patience, and understanding children’s needs. A key message highlighted was that caregivers should act like a “mirror,” reflecting positive behaviour and guidance. Overall, the meeting was insightful and strengthened approaches to child care.
